Compostable Cold Cups - Bioplastic

Compostable Cold Cups - Bioplastic

Unbelievable but true, clear "plastic cups" are now made from vegetables. In this case, these bioplastic cold cups are made from corn! Rather than using a petroleum-based cup that has a one-time use, how about providing your beverages in a container that's as biodegradable as the drink itself?

These Taiwan Style cups are PLA, or polylactic acid, a cornstarch bioplastic. PLA is made of glucose from agricultural crops such as corn and potatoes. Products made from PLA are fully biodegradable and compostable. You can treat them the same as a plastic cup, except if you burn them they don't release carcinogens. They actually smell like marshmallows.

They're biodegradable and compostable, vegan and non-oil-economy-based, meeting ASTM 6400 D 99 and Executive Order 13101 requirements for compostability! Under good and optimal composting conditions, microbes will eat them up in a matter of months in at home composters. However, we do recommend that these cups be sent to an industrial composting facility.

Taiwan Style cups are slightly thinner and taller than American Style cups.

Optional flat or dome lids also available below!
